I made sui may, pot-stickers, shrimp toast, wanton dumplings & wanton soup, and mozzarella Italian mini meatballs.
Sui May, Pot-stickers, & wanton dumplings are the same fillings:
1 pound ground pork
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
1 bunch green onions
4 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon soy sauce
dash black pepper
2 teaspoons mashed ginger
2 packages wanton skins
I steam sui may & pot-stickers in my bamboo steamer. If you don't have a bamboo steamer, you must find one. They are amazing!
These are the sui mai dumplings.
These are the wanton dumplings.
These are pot-stickers.
The shrimp toast are made of a mix of shrimp & scallops:
3/4 pound peeled shrimp
4 Large Scallops
1 tablespoon corn starch
4 green onions
3 cloves garlic
2 teaspoon mashed ginger
dash soy sauce
dash pepper
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
14 thin slices bread
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Let the first 9 ingredients to sit about 10 minutes. It thickens and easier to spread on the bread.
The bread needs to have the crust cut off. The crust will burn if left on during frying before the rest is cooked.
Spread 1 teaspoon of mixture per slice of bread. Cut the toast into triangles and throw them into the hot oil. They only cook for about a minute on each side. They will brown a bit which means they are done.
The wanton soup contains:
8 c Chicken broth
3 chicken breast (cut into chunks)
2 cloves garlic
3 green onions
1 teaspoon mashed ginger
dash pepper
2 sliced large scallops
1/4 pound shrimp
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
wanton dumplings
Once all of the ingredients of the soup is fully heated up, drop the dumplings in. They cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
The meatballs was made from already seasoned ground turkey. I just added mozzarella and put in an oven that is 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.
It was fun making these with my husband last night. It definitely is worth trying. Enjoy!
every dim sum dish looks so yummy. I will make a party too.
